Planetfinder Volume 3: Marduk, Planet Of Fear
So I found this old demo Tom had recorded in Chicago, when he had a real piano. I didn’t realize how close the chords were to Lennon’s “Isolation” because I’d never heard Plastic Ono Band. But I loved the feel and constructed a song around the demo. Then Tom came to Chicago, where I was then living (while he’d moved to New York) and we wrote the lyrics, about John Lennon’s brain-pod coming back down to Earth and being enslaved by an evil corporation. We wanted to get it out before the “new” Beatles song was released, to try and confuse people. So we made up a fake corporation, Robon Corporation, and built a little website around the song. That website got me my first job as a copyrwriter.
I think this song ended up on some German compilation of Beatles fan-tunes. Thanks, Deutschland. Also features a bit from legendary (to me) voiceover artist Pete Stacker, who figures more prominently in the dance remix.
